A comic book page to introduce myself
I spent January working on my online portfolio and my cinematography showreel. After a dull year work-wise, the goal was to start fresh and contact new production companies, directors among others and show them my work. Nonetheless, I felt something was missing... A little je-ne-sais-quoi, my personal touch, to introduce myself in an informal way — and to stand out a little in all fairness.
I had just told a friend that I wanted to become a comic book artist when I was a child. And... Waiting for an overnight train in Toulouse, I said to myself: "Why not? Actually draw a comic to mention my professional journey?".
After a very short and uncomfortable night, I was standing in front of my sketchbook, doodling rough sketches. Somewhat happy with the result, I tried to make a proper page out of it, using Procreate on my iPad. The whole thing took me a week's worth of trial and error. But I'm pretty pleased with the result! And it officially became my first finished comic book strip...
A picture is worth a thousand words so here's the result. I hope it'll be helpful in my quest for new projects! In any case, I had a blast doing it. And it made me want to do more, so... We'll see about that.
